New park and buildings planned for the Sadama neighborhood

The Tallinn City Government has initiated a detailed plan for the Hobujaama Street 12 and 14 properties and surrounding area in the Kesklinn district. The 1.89-hectare area is located at the corner of Hobujaama and Ahtri streets in the Sadama neighborhood, currently used primarily as a parking lot and city bus layover zone.

Landscape architecture competition launched for Ukraine Garden

The City of Tallinn has launched a public landscape architecture competition aimed at finding the best spatial design for the Ukraine Garden (Ukraina aed), located in Lembitu Park. The competition site covers the entirety of Lembitu Park, a formerly built-up city center block destroyed during the March bombings of 1944.

Moscow-named pathway in Lasnamäe renamed to Saaremaa puiestee

The Tallinn City Government decided today to rename a section of the pedestrian and cycling path in the Lasnamäe district’s Kuristiku and Mustakivi neighborhoods, previously known as Moskva puiestee. Since this section is a logical extension of Saaremaa puiestee and runs along the same straight line, the entire stretch will now be named Saaremaa puiestee.

An international architectural review to be commissioned for the preliminary design of Tallinn Hospital

Today, on October 10, the Tallinn Hospital Development Foundation’s council met to discuss the positions presented to the city by the Estonian Association of Architects (EAA) regarding the preliminary design of Tallinn Hospital. As a result of the discussion, the council decided to commission an additional international and independent architectural review. Consequently, the deadline for submitting bids for the Tallinn Hospital design tender has been extended to January 20, 2025.
