The European Film Forum Tallinn, as the winter season's premier summit for innovation in the European audiovisual industry, returns to the Tallinn Nordic Hotel Forum on Monday, November 22, as part of the programme of Industry@Tallinn & Baltic Event. The 2021 edition, "Readiness for Industry Renaissance 2.0" showcases the rising stars and innovators in virtual production, big data and artificial intelligence boosting film and content business in Europe.

At the European Commission's high-level hybrid ceremony of signing the Green City Accord, city leaders from across Europe reaffirmed their commitment to sustainable urban development. The main principle of the Green City Accord is to accelerate green transition in the EU cities.

At the end of last week, city leaders from around 70 cities attended the first ever Eurocities Cities Social Summit to call for a new pact between all levels of EU government to reduce social inequalities, curb homelessness and unemployment growth and foster a just, sustainable and inclusive recovery. At the summit, Tallinn Deputy Mayor Betina Beškina confirmed that Tallinn supports the goals of the European Pillar of Social Rights and is committed to paying additional attention to the social services for the homeless in the coming years.

Last week, Tallinn Mayor Mihhail Kõlvart participated in the political debate on cohesion policy and innovation as part of the European political summit „State of the Union 2022“ in Florence, Italy, to discuss the current and future needs of cities.

According to a recent publication by the European Environment Agency, Tallinn ranks in the top ten of European capitals in terms of the extent of green infrastructure. Tallinn is positioned seventh in terms of urban green space and eighth in terms of urban tree cover. The study highlights the Garden for the Senses in Tallinn Botanical Garden as a good example for improving accessibility to urban nature.
