The Tallinn City Government recently adopted a Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan, which was discussed at the City Council meeting on Thursday. Among other things, the plan proposes a review of the current parking policy, but the discount for residents will remain.

Tallinn is gearing up for major investments in sports ahead of its designation as the European Capital of Sport in 2025. According to the city’s budget proposal for the next year, the largest investment in sports will be allocated to the renovation of Kadriorg Stadium, along with initiatives to expand exercise and sports facilities throughout the city.

To improve traffic flow and safety, the maximum permitted driving speed in the Tallinn city centre will continue to be reduced. The speed limit will be lowered to 40 km/h on Jõe, Pronksi, Liivalaia, and Suur-Ameerika streets, and to 30 km/h on Kaarli puiestee.

Last year, the Tallinn Vital Statistics Department registered 2384 marriages, with the oldest groom being 87 and the oldest bride 79 years old. The most popular months for weddings were July and August, during which over 600 marriages were solemnized. A total of 3609 births were registered, including 48 sets of twins and one set of quadruplets.
