The deadline for submitting smart city solutions for the €100 000 Tallinnovation innovation competition is 15 September.

The Tallinnovation competition, which supports smart city solutions, received ten applications this year. The city of Tallinn, along with the Tehnopol Science and Business Park, chose four winners from among the ten applicants. The winners will receive 100,000 euros of investment, which is a record-breaking sum.

On Wednesday, 14 December, Team DoBu was announced as the winner of the STARTERtallinn Autumn 2022 Grand Prix at the Proto Discovery Factory. The digital platform sends reminders to homeowners about home maintenance and warranties.

The first round of international conference grants will support nine conferences with more than €100 000. While last year was a record year for domestic tourism in the capital, outbound tourism is still recovering and has not yet reached the number of visitors in 2019.

On Tuesday, 11 April, the MELT Innovation Forum will take place at Tallinn Creative Hub. In its eighth year, the top annual event for business development brings together like-minded people to share ideas of the future and spot opportunities for innovation.

At the annual MELT Innovation Forum at the Creative Hub, 30 inspiring speakers will perform and around 30 innovative products and services will be on display in the exhibition area. Some 300 participants are expected to contribute their ideas and find new ways of working together.

The application round for the Tallinnovation competition, organised jointly by the City of Tallinn and the science and business campus Tehnopol, began this week. The competition’s goal is to discover smart city solutions that can make the city’s services and environment more comfortable for both residents and visitors. This is the second year that a total of up to 100,000 euros will be invested into smart city solutions.

Tallinn's 2023 budget includes bridge funding through Tallinn Industrial Parks to start construction of the Tallinn Film Wonderland. In the area of entrepreneurship, attention will also be paid to promoting Tallinn as an attractive tourist destination, supporting small businesses and green innovation. Operational expenditure is planned to be €2.6 million.

The City of Tallinn will support live music venues in the city in the winter and spring of 2023 as part of the City of Music activities. The city has allocated a total of €72 000 to five concert venues.
