The parade of the Defence Forces on the occasion of the anniversary of the Republic of Estonia and the rehearsal of the parade on Vabaduse Square will cause changes to public transport routes in Tallinn city centre on Wednesday 23 February from 19:00 and Thursday 24 February from 8-16:30.
Tallinn is a UNESCO City of Music from October 2021, and in this context the city has opened a call for applications to support music events taking place in Tallinn. In the first music grant round of the year, Tallinn awarded a total of €53,584 to 11 music projects.
Tallinn's streets will be embellished with more than 300 light installations during the darkest time of the year, while a comprehensive light park, one of the largest in Europe, will be built on Vabaduse Square.
On 1 June, Tallinn public transport system will be adjusted to summer timetable, so the schedules of many bus lines and all tram and trolleybus lines will change.
The Tallinn City Government decided during today’s meeting that seven locations in Old Town will be leased out to Ringo Eco OÜ, a business specialising in green technology. The aim of this cooperation is to conduct a month-long pilot project to test the collection of reusable packaging in Old Town.
The government intends to redistribute the municipalities’ revenue base by planning changes in the tax system. Municipalities were given two working days to discuss and approve the new formula.
As a result of construction work on Valukoja street, bus lines 7, 15, 45, 49, 64 and 65 will have their routes and bus stop locations changed from May 22 to June 2. In addition, the route of bus line 52 will be changing in the direction of Ülemiste station.
The 13th Youth Song and Dance Celebration taking place next week brings temporary traffic changes to the City Centre and Song Festival Ground areas during the event and the days preceding it. Depending on the date and time, traffic restrictions will be in place in several locations. Traffic is influenced the most by the procession, the Dance Celebration performances and the concert at the Song Festival Grounds.
