From August 1 to 11, the Birgitta Festival will present a diverse program, featuring breathtaking emotions, unique and premiere performances, and captivating artists.

Through its Test in Tallinn program, the City of Tallinn offers companies the opportunity to test their innovative products and services designed for a smart city. In the January application round, four new innovation projects were selected to proceed to the testing phase.

On January 23, Tallinn’s Deputy Mayor for Education, Aleksei Jašin, met with an education delegation from Helsinki, led by Helsinki’s Deputy Mayor for Education, Johanna Laisaari. The visit focused on the shared challenges of the two cities' education systems and opportunities for closer collaboration. One significant initiative under consideration is organizing an education conference in Tallinn in 2026.

At today’s meeting, the Tallinn City Government appointed new district governors for Kesklinn and Pirita. Starting from August 20th, Ahti Kallikorm will lead the Kesklinn district, and Ivan Lavrentjev will head the Pirita district.

The peace education programme Gutsy Go, brought to schools by the Tallinn Education Department, continues to expand internationally. In the spring, the programme included just Ukrainian war refugees. From 11 to 15 September, youth in Tallinn will be working together with their peers from Riga and Helsinki.

The international sustainable tourism destinations conference Green Destinations 2023 is being held in Tallinn, the European Green Capital 2023. During the conference, a cooperation memorandum for a green corridor between Estonia and Finland was signed. Several Estonian tourism destinations have been part of the Green Destinations network for four years now.

Tallinn has achieved the 10th place in the Innovation Cities: Small 200 Index, which evaluates the innovativeness of cities with fewer than one million residents. The city has made a significant leap in rankings, climbing 77 places compared to 2018. This improvement is attributed to the city's comprehensive digitalization efforts.

Latitude59, the most important technology and start-up conference in the Baltics, will take place in Tallinn on 25-26 May and is expected to attract 3000 visitors from around the world.

Tallinn Mayor Mihhail Kõlvart visited Barcelona on November 7-9 to attend the Mayors’ Summit held within the framework of the Smart City World Congress 2023. The Mayors' summit calls for greater involvement of cities in EU policy-making and European democracy.

From July 11-14, 2024, Tallinn is hosting Europe’s largest sail training ship regatta, the Tall Ships Races, bringing nearly 50 large sailing ships to three of the city's harbors. In preparation for this major summer event, the city invites applications for volunteer positions at the Tall Ships Races.
