Tallinn Mayor Jevgeni Ossinovski will be in Paris this week at the invitation of Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo to attend the opening of the Olympic Games and participate in the mayors' climate summit "At the Heart of Ecological Transition." The meetings aim to strengthen cities' capacity in climate and environmental policy.

Next week, construction will begin on a pop-up bike lane on the inbound section of Paldiski maantee, between Mooni Street and Toompuiestee.

Tallinn is developing a comprehensive solution for the reconstruction of Ristiku and Härjapea streets to transform the area into a human-centered urban space with smooth and efficient traffic flow. On September 15, Tallinn's Old Town will host the Pikk Street Festival, welcoming both the local community and visitors from near and far. The festival offers activities for all ages, including exclusive access to several courtyards along Pikk Street, where students and teachers from the Old Town Educational College will perform concerts.

From August 29 to September 1, Tallinn will host another vibrant Linnaruumifestival (Urban Space Festival), offering activities and discussions for everyone. In keeping with the city’s maritime heritage, this year's festival will focus on the seaside, with most of the program taking place around the Linnahall area.

Several roadworks in the city are nearing completion, bringing some relief to traffic and allowing certain bus lines that were previously diverted to return to their usual routes. However, ongoing projects in Tallinn will continue to affect traffic in the coming weeks.

Tallinn is preparing to build a bicycle path connecting Poska Street and Reidi tee to enhance the city's cycling network and make walking and cycling more convenient. The public presentation of the main project for the bicycle path between Poska Street and Reidi tee will take place online on Wednesday, September 4 at 17:30.

This autumn, Tallinn is planning several updates to the public transport network to improve connections between city districts and offer more convenient transfer options. Before final decisions are made, residents will have the opportunity to provide feedback at discussion meetings or via the website (link below).

On August 29, Tallinn will celebrate Baltic Sea Day with a series of activities near Linnahall, including clean-up efforts, workshops, and a discussion on the state of the Baltic Sea. The day will culminate in the opening concert of the Linnaruumifestival (Urban Space Festival) and a special performance titled "How to Look at the Sea." Additionally, Põhja-Tallinn District and World Cleanup Estonia are organizing a major cleanup event and environmental hike at Pikakari Beach and the Paljassaare Peninsula.
