Today, the City of Tallinn signed a design and construction contract with Merko Ehitus Eesti AS and KMG Inseneriehituse AS for the construction of a tram line connecting Tallinn Old City Harbour and the future Ülemiste Terminal. The cost of the contract is €36.5 million plus VAT, and the construction works are due in February 2025.

The Tallinn City Property Department has launched a design competition for the Päikene and Pääsupesa kindergartens in the Põhja-Tallinn district to find environmentally sustainable solutions that would allow for the flexible adaptation of factory-made wooden modules to the kindergarten's needs. ACES of Europe President Gian Francesco Lupattelli handed over the title of European Capital of Sport 2025 to Tallinn Mayor Mihhail Kõlvart in Brussels last night.

Tallinn will continue to compensate families for the increase in kindergarten fees in the new year - parents will receive a subsidy or compensation if the child and at least one parent are continuously resident in Tallinn from 31 December 2022 onwards.

In autumn 2022, a support measure for conference tourism was created to attract more conference tourists to Tallinn. The maximum amount of support is planned to be up to €30 000 per conference. Tallinn will start supporting international conferences in the city next year. The first call for applications has already been launched and is open until 25 January.
