On Sunday, September 15, the first-ever Pikk Street Festival took place in Tallinn’s Old Town, drawing locals and visitors from both near and far.

On October 1, the annual Tallinn Entrepreneurship Day, themed "Forethought," will focus on the importance of strategic thinking and future-oriented approaches across various aspects of entrepreneurship. A total of 53 events, including seminars and workshops, will take place at the Radisson Collection Hotel Conference Center and other locations throughout the city. Registration opens today, September 17.

As part of its upcoming title year as the European Capital of Sport, Tallinn is marking World Car-Free Day on September 22 with a strong focus on sports.

The City of Tallinn will implement several updates to its public transport network this year to enhance connections between districts and provide more convenient transfer options. Proposed changes were introduced in all districts, and residents were able to provide feedback through the city’s website. Based on this input, some routes were adjusted, and certain plans were abandoned.

The Tallinn Migration Centre will begin operations at its new location, Endla Street 8. The centre, previously located at Niine Street 2, will be closed on October 1 and 2 due to the move, and starting Thursday, October 3, it will welcome clients at the new address.

The City of Tallinn has allocated €14,000 from its reserve fund to support the organization of the "Elukoor" inclusivity concert, which will take place on December 3, marking the International Day of Persons with Disabilities.

Today, on October 10, the Tallinn Hospital Development Foundation’s council met to discuss the positions presented to the city by the Estonian Association of Architects (EAA) regarding the preliminary design of Tallinn Hospital. As a result of the discussion, the council decided to commission an additional international and independent architectural review. Consequently, the deadline for submitting bids for the Tallinn Hospital design tender has been extended to January 20, 2025.

This year, Tallinn’s story, “From the Singing Revolution to The Anti-Waste Revolution: How We Cleaned Up Our Nation’s Backbone Event”, was selected for this prestigious list.

On October 9-10, a delegation of urban planners from the Tokyo Metropolitan Government visited Tallinn to explore the city's innovative development projects. Tokyo has made it a priority to increase the amount of green spaces and green corridors in its urban planning, and projects like Tallinn's Pollinator Highway and Digital Twin (Digikaksik) attracted particular interest.
