Seedbed for next unicorns! Free business idea development program STARTERtallinn opens its new semester with the Launch Event on the 17th of February at 14:00-18:00 in TalTech Mektory.

A challenging year 2020 has put Estonians and Latvians invented – more than 500 ideas were submitted to Prototron. On 29th of January 2021, the winners of the Autumn 2020 round were announced – a record 120,000 euros were shared between 8 teams. So far Prototron has helped 86 technological solutions bought to market and invested more than one million euros in the implementation of smart ideas.

On Thursday, 29 September at 10 am, a committee for the future of the Estonian National Opera building is convening for the first time at the Tallinn Strategic Management Office (Kaarli pst 1). The aim of the meeting is to offer a comprehensive and realistic vision of the building’s development.

The Tallinn City Government sent the council a draft to continue with the European Space Agency’s business incubator programme 2024-2027 and to support new joining companies with up to €270,000.

Tallinn is developing a solution for the reconstruction of Ristiku Street, Härjapea Street and Ristiku Põik, which will result in the creation of a safer and more comfortable urban space for all road users. The City of Tallinn project was among the 14 chosen by the European Urban Initiative from a total of 99 applications that will receive a five million euro grant from the Regional Development Fund.

During today’s meeting, the Tallinn City Government decided to partner with Tallinn University (TLU) and Tallinn University of Technology (TalTech) to advance scientific and developmental activities and enhance the internship system and further education. Ongoing agreements are also being renewed with the Estonian Academy of Arts (EKA), Tallinn University of Applied Sciences, AS Estonian Entrepreneurship University of Applied Sciences and the Estonian Business School Foundation.

Tallinn Marathon will draw around 20,000 sports enthusiasts from over 70 countries to the districts of Põhja-Tallinn, Kesklinn, and Haabersti from 8 to 10 September. This will lead to temporary changes in Tallinn's traffic and public transport.

At the Tallinn Entrepreneurship Awards gala held at the Seaplane Harbour (Lennusadam) yesterday, the awards for the Best Development Project, Collaboration Project, Bright Newcomer, Tourism Achievement, Job Creator, Solution of the Future, and Eco-Innovation of the year were announced, alongside awards for the best applied research projects.

On Thursday, November 23, from 8 to 9 a.m., a sports event will be held in three sports centers and two winter swimming centers in Tallinn. At this event, everyone can join free training sessions. The aim is to emphasize the importance of regular exercise throughout the year, even during the dark and cold seasons when various opportunities are available.
