SA Tallinna Kultuurikatel received the internationally known ecolabel Green Key, which lets visitors know that the company’s activities are environmentally friendly.

As of 1 June, collecting biological waste by type has become mandatory for all Tallinn properties regardless of intended purpose or number of apartments. Around two-thirds of city residents are collecting biological waste by type as of 1 June.

The City of Tallinn will be organising an entrepreneurship contest for the 20th time this fall, which aims to highlight local entrepreneurs and promoters of entrepreneurship. Participants can choose from seven categories: the year’s best property development project promoting entrepreneurship or tourism, joint project between companies, emerging company, tourism project, job creator, ecological innovation and future solution.

During today’s meeting, the Tallinn City Government decided to partner with Tallinn University (TLU) and Tallinn University of Technology (TalTech) to advance scientific and developmental activities and enhance the internship system and further education. The 20th annual Tallinn Entrepreneurship Day takes place on September 26th at the Viru Conference Center. The theme of the event is "Skills that Matter in Future Entrepreneurship," emphasizing the development of entrepreneurial skills and their significance in a changing business environment.

The nominees for Tallinn Entrepreneurship Awards have been selected. A total of 70 candidates were submitted in seven main categories, from which the winners will be announced on September 27th. The categories include the Best Development Project, Collaboration Project, Bright Newcomer, Tourism Achievement, Job Creator, Solution of the Future, and Eco-Innovation. Additionally, awards will be given for the best applied research projects.

The application period for the 2023 City Council Scholarship (Raestipendium) is from October 1 to October 15. The scholarship is aimed at supporting master's and doctoral students whose research is related to Tallinn, has practical value for the city, or helps solve urban issues.

The international sustainable tourism destinations conference Green Destinations 2023 is being held in Tallinn, the European Green Capital 2023. During the conference, a cooperation memorandum for a green corridor between Estonia and Finland was signed. Several Estonian tourism destinations have been part of the Green Destinations network for four years now.
