The City of Tallinn is providing €68,480 to 14 ventures as part of this year’s last round of grants for cultural non-profit activities.

The city government sent the draft regulation correcting the thresholds of housing costs related to rent, electricity and heating, which have increased significantly compared to last year, to the council to be taken into account when paying subsistence benefits.

To promote the separate collection of bio-waste, Tallinn is distributing bio-waste collection containers free of charge to everybody interested.

Tomorrow, 3 December, the eighth apartment association conference will take place at the Tallinn Creative Hub (Põhja pst 27). It is a traditional annual event for representatives of housing associations and apartment owners, addressing current housing issues and areas of cooperation between the city and association members.

Tallinn Zoo, together with the Estonian Society for the Protection of Animals, the Animal Shelters NGO and the association Loomus, are calling for an end to the use of fireworks during the holidays as it causes great distress to animals every year.

Tallinn's district governments have set up a total of 79 collection points across the city where old Christmas trees can be given away for free. Collected Christmas trees are not dumped in landfills, but are reused for district heating in the city's houses or to generate electricity.

In 2023, the Ministry of Culture's series of theme years will reach the field of physical activity. Exercise has a direct link to our health and well-being, so Tallinn invites its residents to take part in monthly sporting events and to make use of health trails, sports fields and more.

Today Tallinn sent an aid consignment to Ukraine. Two Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 319 ambulances with equipment belonging to Tallinn Ambulance, as well as medical equipment and pharmacy goods from East Tallinn Central Hospital will be handed over to the city of Lviv.
