Tallinn celebrates the arrival of Chinese New Year on Friday, February 12 at Vabaduse Square and Tallinn Song Festival Grounds. New Year's celebrations include dance, drum and light performances, fire sculptures, demonstrations of oriental martial arts, and the traditional fireworks display. Spectators are welcome to Vabaduse Square from 1 pm, the program at the Song Festival Grounds starts at 4 pm.

On 19 May, the Southeast Asian tropical rainforest exhibition building in Tallinn Zoo was ceremonially opened. Various species can be seen and learned about, even those that have become rare in nature. Guests are welcome to visit the rainforest from 20 May.

On Wednesday, July 3, construction will begin on Kadaka puiestee to replace the current deteriorating overpass with a new viaduct. This project aims to ensure a safer traffic environment for all road users, including pedestrians, cyclists, and vehicles. International rating agency Fitch has affirmed Tallinn's long-term credit rating at its current high level of AA-, but revised the rating outlook to negative.

Tallinn's best youth sports club was Nelson wrestling club.

Last year, 2,575 marriages were contracted at the Tallinn Family Register Office, with the oldest groom being 84 and the oldest bride 83. July and August were the most popular months for marriages, with nearly 360 marriages in each month.

The Institute for Quality of Life, located in London, awarded Tallinn with a bronze award, placing Tallinn at 130th place in the 200 Happiest Cities ranking.
