The government intends to redistribute the municipalities’ revenue base by planning changes in the tax system. Municipalities were given two working days to discuss and approve the new formula.

By order of the Tallinn City Government, a total of €50,000 will be allocated from the city government's reserve fund to support earthquake victims in Turkey and Syria.

The City of Tallinn and the Police and Border Guard Board are starting the ‘Lock or Lose’ information campaign, the purpose of which is to prevent bicycle theft and raise people's awareness in avoiding becoming a victim of theft. On Sunday 21 May at 2 pm, the festive closing concert of the Tallinn Talent 2023 youth music competition will be held at the Estonia Concert Hall, where its initiator and patron Mayor Mihhail Kõlvart will acknowledge the winners and present them with city scholarships. The free gala concert is open to the public.

The ‘Place Buzz’ installation competition of Tallinn, the European Green Capital, were chosen as finalists out of 1450 applications by the prestigious pan-European New European Bauhaus contest. The people's favourite will be selected at the contest as well.

City Government submitted Tallinn’s consolidated annual financial reports for the year 2022 to the Council for approval – at the end of last year, the consolidation group had a revenue of 89 million euros, total assets of 2.13 billion euros and net assets of 1.66 billion euros.

The city of Tallinn and Utilitas OÜ will enter into a partnership agreement with the aim of creating the joint venture AS Utilitas Tallinna Soojus for district heating, 33.34% being owned by the city and 66.66% by Utilitas. The new joint venture will be a holding company leading investments in the Tallinn region, while AS Utilitas Tallinn will continue to sell heat.
