On Saturday, May 1, the ship Vesta will sail again between Tallinn and Aegna Island, leaving the Linnahall quay from Patarei Harbour.

Due to the construction of street lighting, one lane will be closed on the Tartu maantee between Tallinn Airport and the city border from May 14 to June 4. The sidewalk by Lake Ülemiste of the same section will be closed due to works until May 14.

Last week, the construction works were initiated in Tondiraba Park for creating a unique extreme sports area – a skatepark and a pumptrack. This will add environmentally friendly leisure and sports activities for citizens of all ages. The entire park will be completed by the end of this summer.

The permanent residents and companies of Aegna Island will have the opportunity to collect mixed waste separately and hand it over to door-to-door waste carriers once a month. The waste transport of the island will be organized by the Tallinn Waste Centre from 1 May.

The construction of the lighting solution in the pedestrian tunnels of the Haabersti traffic junction has been completed. The newly installed lights in the Suurhall and Zoo tunnels replicate the movement of people in the walkway and change colour according to the speed of movement.

Today, Tallinn unveiled a Climate Strategy that sets the goal of making the capital climate neutral by 2050. The progressive Tallinn Sustainable Energy and Climate Change Adaptation Plan aims to reduce the urban and economic impact on the climate in a way that enriches the economy and the urban environment. The Tallinnovation innovation competition is organised jointly by the city of Tallinn and the Tehnopol Science and Business Park with the aim of finding smart city solutions that will improve the services and the environment of the city for residents and visitors. A record 100,000 euros is available for investment in smart city solutions this year.
