On Monday, 19 June, the youth-oriented summer of festivals will officially begin at Inglirand. Five youth festivals will be taking place throughout the summer.

The number of free parking spaces for members of diplomatic institutions on public Tallinn parking spaces was reduced on 1 July. Tallinn Restaurant Week starts tomorrow, with 81 restaurants offering culinary delights from November 1 to 7. In collaboration with Tallinn, criteria have been established allowing restaurants to choose a dish from their à la carte menu that meets one of the set criteria and mark it with the green label. This initiative has been joined for the first time by 24 restaurants.

The Tallinn City Government has decided to increase several social benefit rates from January 1, 2024. In response to the rising cost of living, the city is raising the income threshold to 360 euros and the financial support for the beginning of the academic year from the second grade to 100 euros. Additionally, benefits for children with disabilities and pension supplements will also see an increase.

Last year, the Tallinn Vital Statistics Department registered 2384 marriages, with the oldest groom being 87 and the oldest bride 79 years old. The most popular months for weddings were July and August, during which over 600 marriages were solemnized. This summer, Tallinn's three harbors - Noblessner Marina, Old City Harbor cruise area, and Seaplane Harbor - will host the world's largest sailing training regatta, The Tall Ships Races, inviting businesses to offer a variety of foods and drinks, Estonian handicrafts, and all kinds of attractions for children. Registration is open until June 10.

Starting March 1, parents in Tallinn can submit applications for assigning a local school to children entering first grade at municipal schools on September 1, 2024.
