At the end of this week, 16-18 July, the most magnificent Estonian sea party will take place in the Old City Harbour cruise area, Patarei sea fortress, Seaplane Harbour and the Noblessner seafront quarter, where artists from Estonia and the rest of the world will provide entertainment on land and at sea. Outdoor cafes, children's areas, a design street are open on the occasion and a sea taxi will provide transport from harbour to harbour.

Tallinn Day celebrates the acquisition of Lübeck city rights in 1248, which included Tallinn as a member of the Union of European Cities. On Monday, 15 May, Tallinn will be 775 years old. The birthday events will begin on 14 May, when Estonian Prime Minister Kaja Kallas and Tallinn Mayor Mihhail Kõlvart will open the Short Leg Gate.

Today, Estonia’s largest maritime and family event published its programme. From 14-16 July, three of the capital’s ports (Vanasadam cruise area, Lennusadam and Noblessner harbour campus) will be hosting a densely packed cultural programme and many maritime activities.

The initial phase of Tallinn's “Safe School Route” (“Turvaline koolitee”) program is set to focus on 14 schools within the city, addressing safety challenges around school vicinities such as safe sidewalks, bike lanes, street crossings, parking areas, and the implementation of traffic calming measures. Over the coming years, the program is planned to expand, encompassing all schools within Tallinn that require similar safety enhancements in their surrounding areas.

From April 22 to 28, Tallinn is set to offer a variety of events and camps tailored for youth aged 7-26, spanning a wide array of interests from arts and science to sports and technology. Registration for these enriching experiences is now open.

Fifteen thousand euros will be allocated from the reserve fund of Tallinn City Government to the Estonian National Symphony Orchestra to support Tallinn’s sister city Odessa and keep the tradition of Ukraine’s largest classical music festival ‘Odessa Classics’ alive in Tallinn.

As a UNESCO City of Music, Tallinn pays special attention to music events that that add vibrancy to the city's cultural lineup. For the first round of music project grants in 2024, the city will allocate a total of €154,070 to support 32 initiatives. A record number of 90 projects were submitted for this funding round.
