Starting from 1 May 2025, a new water service tariff will apply in the service areas of Tallinna Vesi covering Tallinn, Saue, and Maardu. The average price change is approximately 8%.
Starting today, 22 April, property owners in Tallinn can begin submitting applications for compensation related to the 2025 land tax increase. The first to be processed will be applications from those whose land tax is up to €100 and who have already paid the full amount. Those whose land tax exceeds €100 — with the second installment due on 1 October — have time to apply, as their applications will be processed starting from 2 October.
One year after taking office in April 2024, the Tallinn City Government marks its first full year of work. Over the past year, the city has launched a number of major reforms to improve management efficiency, make public services more accessible and of higher quality, increase transparency, and invest strategically in the living environment and civil protection.
In recent months, Tallinn’s electronic public transport systems have experienced recurring malfunctions, with the latest major issue occurring last Wednesday. The city apologizes to public transport users and has already fined its service provider, AS Ridango.
Organisational changes made in the Tallinn Urban Planning Department over the past two years have significantly accelerated planning procedures. In the first quarter of this year, the City of Tallinn made decisions on 20 detailed plans — twice as many as in the same period in 2024 and four times more than in 2023.
Due to stormwater and heating pipeline construction works, the section of Kopli Street between Sõle and Ankru streets will be closed to regular traffic starting from 31 March, and several bus lines will be rerouted.
The City of Tallinn will once again offer free legal counselling to residents in 2025, with consultation days scheduled in each city district. The next counselling sessions will take place on 19 March from 9:00–13:00 at the Põhja-Tallinn District Government and on 21 March from 9:00–13:00 at the City Centre Social Centre.
