Next week, construction will begin on the first phase of the Putukaväil (The Pollinator Highway) project in Tallinn, creating a new pedestrian and cyclist corridor between Ristiku and Sõle streets and establishing a diverse linear park that connects Sõle Street with Kolde puiestee.

Starting Monday, June 10, construction will begin on the pedestrian tunnel at the intersection of Paldiski maantee and Tehnika Street. This project will result in temporary changes to traffic arrangements and, in later stages, a temporary disruption of train services around the Balti jaam train station.

Starting June 1, the Tallinn Transport Department will have a new contract partner for traffic control equipment maintenance - KiirWarren.KL OÜ. Consequently, the contact information for reporting traffic light failures or damaged signs will change.

Tallinn plans to establish a bicycle path between Poska Street and Reidi tee to enhance mobility for pedestrians and cyclists and to develop the city's network of bike paths. The public introduction of the preliminary design for the Poska-Reidi bike path is scheduled for Wednesday, May 15, at 17:30 at the Mati Undi Museum, located at Koidula 17.

On May 13 and 14, the Viru bus terminal will be closed to bus traffic due to paving works. As a result, temporary changes will be made to the routes and bus stop locations for bus lines No. 1, 29, and 40 in the area.

Due to the Old City Harbour tramway construction on Põhja puiestee near Linnahall, tram services to Kopli will be reorganized until mid-August. Trams No. 2 and 5 will not be in operation, and a temporary tram line No. 1 will serve passengers between the Kopli and Linnahall stops during this period.

During the first weekend of May, tram lines No. 1, 2, and 5 will be out of service. From May 6, a temporary tram line No. 1 will operate between Kopli and Linnahall stops.

From the evening of Friday, May 3, at 20.00 until the end of Sunday, May 5, tram service between Kopli and the city centre will be temporarily suspended. During this period, tram lines 1, 2, and 5 will be replaced by shuttle bus line 52 on the segment between Kopli and Mere puiestee. This suspension is due to construction work at the temporary Linnahall stop and the tram turnaround loop at the Skoone Bastion stadium.

The Tallinn Urban Environment and Public Works Department is set to construct sidewalks at 30 locations across the city, replacing informal trails or old paved sidewalks now in poor condition.

Last summer, Tallinn launched a public architectural competition seeking a concept for Koidu Street as both a residential street and the main thoroughfare of the Uue-Maailma district. The winning entry, titled "Kohalik (Local)," was designed by the architects Tristan Krevald, Ra Martin Puhkan, Siim Tanel Tõnisson, and Madis Eek of OÜ Stuudio Täna.
